It was an honor to paint the cover of this book by John Knowles, which was so widely read in high schools. One of my son's friends, a former student at the St. Ann's High School in Brooklyn Heights posed for both boys. If you look carefully you can see his memory, painted as transparent figures of himself climbing up the tree and his friend about to jump.
