Here again the great Rococo paintings by Fragonard and Boucher were wonderful references for this cover. It is also noteworthy that they lived in the same historical period as the subjects of this book. In these aristocratic gardens there are often sculptures of mythological subjects, one of which I copied right out of a Boucher painting.
