Most of the models were beautiful/handsome and posed very well, as is true in this painting, however, often the pose caused a “pain in the neck” as it was for this male model. Here like in some of the other covers calling for a grand spatial look, the flatness of the Great Plains had a different yet similar look. The straight horizon line stretching across the wrap-a-round adds to the appearance of vastness and the couple submerged below the horizon does not disturb the feeling of space.
