I tried to get the seedy feeling of a pool hall with its low overhead spotlights and the dark atmosphere for which I took some photographs and also used reference tear sheets. The models performed well especially the one who played Minnesota Fats. The green pool table top was a good device to upstage the characters and provide a good backdrop for the title.
